Milan De Laet has signed with Richard Morris Racing for the 2023 season and will share a Revolution 500SC with Richard Morris at selected events through the year. Provisionally, Milan with team up with Richard at the European Sports Prototype Cup rounds at Barcelona in March, Spa in October, and Portimao in December, as well as at the Dutch Supercar & Prototype Challenge event at Zandvoort in September.

Milan is a rising young talent with an already impressive CV. Half Belgian and half Finnish, Milan has competed successfully in a number of international series. Having started karting at 9 years old, Milan made it to the 2018 IAME X30 SuperShifter World Championship Final. In 2019 he moved into single-seater racing and won the French Formula Ford 1600 Championship in his first year. Further success followed with Milan making the finals of the world-famous Walter Hayes Trophy (2019) and Formula Ford Festival (2020). In 2021 he was a multiple race winner and overall Vice Champion in the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup and began testing in a Ginetta G55 GT4. Most recently, in 2022 Milan was a winner in GT Open racing a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.

Milan is backed by APEXone, which has signed as a 2023 season sponsor.

Milan completed a highly successful pre-season test in the Revolution 500SC alongside Richard at Donington Park ahead of the pairing’s first race event together at Barcelona on 11-12 March.

Speaking after the test, Richard said: “I’m really excited to race alongside Milan this season. I first became aware of Milan with his successes in Formula Ford 1600, which is an extremely competitive category and where I started my own car racing career. I have been following his progress, and we had the opportunity to meet last season when we both drove the ERA electric single seater car at Zolder, where I was impressed by his professionalism and approach – we were already collaborating and working together well on that occasion. Milan has driven and had success in a range of categories from world level karting through to saloons and most recently winning in GT racing. He’s repeatedly shown his talent by getting up to speed straight away in new cars, and that was very evident at the Donington test.

He was already setting blisteringly fast and consistent lap times on his first full day in the car. He demonstrated a great attitude and maturity in absorbing data, information, and advice from myself and the Revolution Race Cars team, while also giving good feedback on car setup which aligned well with my own preferences for how I want the car to feel. We get on extremely well as personalities, so I’m hugely looking forward to working together with him through this season and I am excited by the potential of combining my experience with this fresh young talent.”

Still glowing from his first taste of the Revolution, Milan added: “The car is loud, fast, and a blast to drive. The Donington test was positive in every way. The team at Revolution made me feel right at home. I can’t wait to show what Richard and I can do as a team in Barcelona.”
