Richard Appointed to Motorsport UK EDI Committee as LGBTQ+ Chair

Richard is delighted to have been appointed as a member of Motorsport UK’s new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and as Chair of its LGBTQ+ Subcommittee.

Motorsport UK is the national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the UK, representing competitors, volunteers, clubs, and fans. The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee will use research, combined with its members’ expertise, to formulate strategy, policy and actions for recommendation to the Board.

Richard is a Co-Founder of Racing Pride, which is an innovative movement developed in collaboration with Stonewall UK to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity through motorsport. He will draw on the knowledge he has gained, and continues to gain, through developing this movement, together with his own experiences within the sport and training he has received from Stonewall UK, to help shape and inform the Committee’s discussions.

Listening to the community across the sport will be crucial to this ongoing project, and Richard would be delighted to hear from anybody who has suggestions for how Motorsport UK could work as a governing body to improve equality, diversity and inclusion across four-wheel motorsport in the UK, particularly, but not exclusively, in relation to welcoming LGBTQ+ participants.
